El Centro Educativo Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The Gabriel García Márquez Educational Center has been operating for approximately 50 years. handles an average of 30 students in grades preschool through fifth grade, Because it is a rural school, it is unitary, that is, a single teacher directs all grades (0-5) and all the areas.

The Ministry of Education and the Municipal Mayor’s Office have not able provide fundings for the improvements needed for a conducive learning environments for the students on multiple requests presented. The students of the Gabriel García Márquez Educational Center will benefit in large part because sports practice conditions will improve, its platforms will be safer for avoid accidents, their classrooms will be more comfortable and safe to receive their classes, they will be more safe when entering the kiosk and with the arrangement of the gate, insecurity will be avoided since the school is located on a main road.

The foundation partner is been Cleofe Magally Torres Rivero who has advocated and faciliated the improvements at the Gabriel García Márquez Educational Center. Many thanks to her dedication to the students and community of Saravena, Colombia.
